Loretta is a former docent at the Newport Historical Society Museum, enjoys gardening, antiques and a good book. Her background as a feature writer and travel writer for The Boston Globe prepared her to own and manage a bookstore in Newport. Since 1986, Loretta and Tom have run the Elliott Boss House. Before moving to Newport in 1985, Tom was the Chief Financial Officer at colleges in Geneva, New York, and in Boston, Massachusetts. Now he takes courses at the Newport Art Museum, is active in the local church, and pursues his interests in model railroading and sailing. Tom and Loretta both love to cook and entertain. |

The Elliott Boss house is a circa 1820 home that has been restored and furnished with love and charm. This house and its' private garden have been featured in Newport's Secret Garden Tour, The Christmas in Newport Candlelight Tour and the Point Association's Wine Tasting tour. Although not an undiscovered gem, since it has been featured in The New York Times Travel Section and Bernice Chesler's Bed and Breakfast in New England, you will feel that you are the first to discover it, with a warm welcome and a comfortable stay. |
